When We Are Closed

If you phone the surgery out of normal hours you will be asked to redial 111, the 24 hour NHS contact number.

They will signpost you to the appropriate service or, where appropriate, book an appointment with a GP. This could be a telephone assessment, a face-to-face appointment at a treatment centre or a home visit. They may also book an appointment at your registered GP Practice the next working day if your condition if less serious.

Walk-in Centre

The walk-in centre is located at Newcastle General Hospital and is open from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. 7 days a week.  Minor illnesses can be treated at this centre.  Children under 2 cannot be treated.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
